Guide
This guide walks you through the everyday updates you can make yourself on the website, using the Dashboard — the admin area only your team can see. It covers accommodations, travel packages, testimonials, publications, and the site content that can be edited without touching any code.
Before You Start
What you can do with this guide
- Add or edit accommodations — hotels, lodges, resorts and camps you offer.
- Add or edit travel packages — safaris, tours and holiday packages, including pricing.
- Add client reviews — the testimonials shown on your homepage.
- Add or edit publications — brochures and magazines visitors can read online or download as a PDF.
- Manage the Agent Portal — review and approve agent applications, set wholesale pricing, and respond to quote requests and bookings.
- Update site-wide details — phone numbers, email, WhatsApp, social links, and homepage text/photos.
- Update page content — About Us, Contact Us, Corporate Services and legal pages.
What this guide does not cover
Anything involving the website’s design, layout, new page types, plugins, or how things work behind the scenes needs a developer. If you’re ever unsure whether something is safe to change yourself, skip it and ask — see “What Not To Do” near the end of this guide.
Logging in
- Go to your website’s login page: yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
- Enter the username and password your developer gave you.
- You’ll land on the Dashboard — the black menu on the left is how you get everywhere in this guide.
Tip: bookmark the login page in your browser so you don’t have to remember the address.
1. Finding Your Way Around the Dashboard
Every screen in the Dashboard follows the same basic pattern, so once you’ve added one accommodation or package, the rest feel familiar.
The left-hand menu
- Accommodation — your hotels, lodges, resorts and camps.
- Travel Packages — your safaris, tours and holiday packages.
- Testimonials — client reviews shown on the homepage.
- Publications — brochures and magazines visitors can read online or download.
- Agent Applications, Agent Rate Agreements, Quote Requests, Agent Bookings, Marketing Materials — the Agent Portal’s admin screens, covered fully in Section 8.
- Pages — About Us, Contact Us, Corporate Services and legal pages.
- Media — every photo and file ever uploaded to the site.
- Theme Settings — site-wide details: contact info, homepage text/photos, social links, logos (near the bottom of the menu, gear icon).
What a typical “Add New” screen looks like
- Title box — the name at the very top: a property name, package name, or client name.
- Big text box underneath — works like Word: type a description, make text bold, add bullet points.
- Right-hand sidebar — where you Publish, set the Featured Image (the main photo), and pick tags such as Destination or Category.
- Details box further down the page — this is where the specific fields live: prices, galleries, itineraries and so on. Each post type (Accommodation, Travel Packages, Testimonials, Publications) has its own Details box, covered below.
Publish, Draft, and Update
- Draft — saved but not visible to visitors yet. Use this while you’re still working on something.
- Publish — makes it live on the website immediately.
- Update — the button you’ll see instead of “Publish” once something is already live. Click it to save further changes.
- Move to Trash — removes it from the website. Trashed items can still be restored for about 30 days before WordPress deletes them for good.
Featured Image
Nearly every screen has a “Featured Image” box in the right-hand sidebar. This is the main photo shown on cards, listings and at the top of the page — always set one before publishing.
2. Adding a Hotel, Lodge, Resort or Camp
Go to Accommodation → Add New in the left-hand menu.
- Step 1. Type the property’s name into the title box at the top.
- Step 2. Write a description in the big text box below the title.
- Step 3. In the right-hand sidebar, set a Featured Image — the main photo for this listing.
- Step 4. Still in the right-hand sidebar, choose a Destination (e.g. “Diani Beach”) and an Accommodation Type (e.g. “Resort”). If the one you need doesn’t exist yet, type its name and click “Add New” — see Section 4 for more on this.
- Step 5. Scroll down to the “Accommodation Details” box and fill in the fields below.
Accommodation Details — field by field
- Featured on Homepage — switch this on to show the property in the “Featured Accommodation” section on the homepage. Up to 6 can be featured at once.
- Photo Gallery — upload several good-quality photos; these appear in the gallery on the property’s page. Wide (landscape) photos work best.
- Starting Price (per night) — a whole number with no commas, e.g. 25000.
- Currency — KES or USD.
- Facilities — click “Add Facility” for each one, e.g. “Swimming Pool”, and optionally pick a matching icon from the list.
- Amenities — simply tick every box that applies (Wi-Fi, Pool, Parking, Restaurant, Bar, Spa, Gym, Airport Shuttle, Pet Friendly, Conference Rooms); these show as small icons on the page.
- Location Address — e.g. “Watamu Road, Malindi” — shown on the page.
- Google Map Embed URL — the easiest way: copy the property’s address, then paste it into this pattern in place of “YOUR ADDRESS”:
https://www.google.com/maps?q=YOUR+ADDRESS&output=embed(replace spaces in the address with a + sign). - Nearby Attractions — points of interest close by, e.g. “Watamu Marine Park” with a distance like “2.5 km”.
- WhatsApp Number (optional) — only fill this in if enquiries about this specific property should go to a different WhatsApp number than the one in Theme Settings. Use the full international format, e.g. +254712345678.
- Enquiry Button Text — the wording on this property’s enquiry button, e.g. “Enquire Now” or “Check Availability”.
Step 6. Click Publish (top right) when you’re ready to make it live.
Resident / Non-Resident Pricing (Per Night)
Below the main Accommodation Details box you’ll see a separate box called “Resident / Non-Resident Pricing (Per Night)” — this holds the actual per-night prices visitors see on the property’s page and in card listings, and it takes over from the Starting Price field above once it’s filled in.
- Price Per Night — Resident (KES) — the rate shown to East African residents (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan), in Kenyan Shillings.
- Price Per Night — Non-Resident (USD) — the rate shown to international visitors, in US Dollars. Type in the actual amount you want to charge — this is not an automatic currency conversion of the resident price.
Note: the Starting Price / Currency fields in the main Details box above still exist, and only act as a fallback for a property that hasn’t had its Resident/Non-Resident prices filled in yet. Once you fill in this box, it’s what visitors actually see — for any property you edit going forward, fill in both prices here rather than relying on Starting Price.
Agent Net Rates & Rate Sheet — Agent Portal only, not public
Still inside the main Accommodation Details box, a little further down, are four fields that are never shown on the public website — they’re only visible to approved travel agents inside the separate Agent Portal, and only for a property they’ve signed a net rate contract for. Easy to confuse with the public pricing fields above, so look for the words “Agent Net Rate” or “Net Rate PDF” before assuming a field is public:
- Agent Net Rate — Resident (KES) and Agent Net Rate — Non-Resident (USD) — wholesale, per-night rates offered to agents, entirely separate from the public prices above.
- Net Rate PDF — the rate-sheet document agents can download from the Agent Portal, once they’ve signed the net rate contract for this specific property.
- Rate Year — which year the uploaded PDF covers.
Editing or removing an existing listing
Go to Accommodation → All Accommodation, click the property’s name, make your changes, then click Update. To temporarily hide a listing without deleting it, open it and change its status to Draft. To remove it altogether, use Move to Trash.
3. Adding a Travel Package
Go to Travel Packages → Add New in the left-hand menu. The overall steps are the same as adding an accommodation:
- Step 1. Type the package name into the title box.
- Step 2. Write a description in the big text box.
- Step 3. Set a Featured Image in the right-hand sidebar.
- Step 4. Choose a Destination and a Package Category (e.g. Family, Honeymoon, Group, Adventure, Solo, Corporate) in the right-hand sidebar. Type a new name and click “Add New” if the one you need doesn’t exist yet.
- Step 5. Scroll down to the “Travel Package Details” box and fill in the fields below.
Travel Package Details — field by field
- Featured on Homepage — switch this on to show the package in the “Featured Packages” section on the homepage. Up to 6 can be featured at once.
- Photo Gallery — upload several good-quality photos for the package’s own gallery.
- Duration — e.g. “5 Days / 4 Nights”.
- Starting Price — a whole number with no commas, e.g. 45000.
- Currency — KES or USD.
- Highlights — one short line per row, e.g. “Private beach access” — shown as a checklist.
- Itinerary — click “Add Day” for each day of the trip, filling in the day number, a short day title, and a description of what happens that day.
- What’s Included / What’s Excluded — two separate checklists, one line per item, e.g. “Airport transfers” (included) or “Travel insurance” (excluded).
- WhatsApp Number (optional) — only fill this in if enquiries about this specific package should go to a different WhatsApp number than the one in Theme Settings.
Step 6. Click Publish when ready.
Resident / Non-Resident Pricing
Below the main Travel Package Details box you’ll see a separate box called “Resident / Non-Resident Pricing” — this holds the prices visitors actually see displayed on the package’s page and in card listings, and it takes over from the Starting Price field above once it’s filled in.
- Resident Price (KES) — the price shown to East African residents (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan), in Kenyan Shillings.
- Non-Resident Price (USD) — the price shown to international visitors, in US Dollars. Type in the actual amount you want to charge — this is not an automatic currency conversion of the resident price.
Important: this box only changes the price displayed on the page — it does not change what a customer is actually charged if they book and pay online. Online checkout still charges whatever is set in Starting Price (and Currency) in the main Details box above, together with any Vehicle Pricing / Optional Add-ons chosen. If you update this box, update Starting Price to match — otherwise the displayed price and the checkout price can end up different. If you’re ever unsure which one to trust, ask your developer.
Agent Net Rates & Rate Sheet — Agent Portal only, not public
Still inside the main Travel Package Details box, a little further down, are four fields that are never shown on the public website — they’re only visible to approved travel agents inside the separate Agent Portal, and only for a package they’ve signed a net rate contract for. Easy to confuse with the public pricing fields above, so look for the words “Agent Net Rate” or “Net Rate PDF” before assuming a field is public:
- Agent Net Rate — Resident (KES) and Agent Net Rate — Non-Resident (USD) — wholesale rates offered to agents, entirely separate from the public prices above.
- Net Rate PDF — the rate-sheet document agents can download from the Agent Portal, once they’ve signed the net rate contract for this specific package.
- Rate Year — which year the uploaded PDF covers.
Pricing by vehicle type
Use this only if the price of a package changes depending on the vehicle a traveller chooses — for example, a Nairobi day trip that costs more in a Land Cruiser than in a Safari Van.
- Step 1. In the “Vehicle Pricing Options” box, click “Add Vehicle Option” for each choice.
- Step 2. Type the vehicle name (e.g. “Safari Van”) and its price per person (e.g. 4000).
- Step 3. Add another row for the next vehicle (e.g. “Land Cruiser” at 6000).
On the live package page, visitors see these as choices to pick from, and the total price updates automatically to match. Leave this box completely empty to keep things simple — the package will just use the single Starting Price above, as normal.
Optional add-ons / stopovers
Use this for extra stops or activities a traveller can choose to add to the trip for an additional cost — for example, a stop at the Giraffe Centre on the way to Nairobi National Park.
- Step 1. In the “Optional Add-ons” box, click “Add Option” for each extra.
- Step 2. Type its name (e.g. “Giraffe Centre”) and its price per person (e.g. 500).
- Step 3. Add as many rows as you need, e.g. “Bomas of Kenya” at 800.
These appear as tick-boxes on the package page. A traveller can tick as many as they like, and the total price updates automatically to include them, on top of whichever vehicle (if any) they’ve chosen. Leave this box empty if a package has no optional add-ons.
Note: only packages priced in KES can be booked and paid for online, since the shop currently accepts one currency. USD-priced packages still show all their details, but visitors book those via the enquiry form instead.
Editing or removing an existing package
Go to Travel Packages → All Travel Packages, click the package’s name, make your changes, then click Update. Use Draft to hide a package temporarily, or Move to Trash to remove it.
4. Destinations, Categories & Types
These are the labels used to organise and filter your Accommodation and Travel Packages — visitors use them to narrow down what they’re looking for.
- Destinations — the place something is located in or travels to, e.g. “Maasai Mara” or “Zanzibar”. Shared by both Accommodation and Travel Packages, and can be nested (e.g. “Kenya” as a parent of “Nairobi”).
- Package Categories — the kind of trip: Family, Honeymoon, Group, Adventure, Solo, Corporate. Used only by Travel Packages.
- Accommodation Types — the kind of stay: Hotel, Lodge, Resort, Camp. Used only by Accommodation.
Adding a new one
There are two ways to add a new Destination, Category or Type:
- While editing an Accommodation or Travel Package, type the new name into the relevant box in the right-hand sidebar and click “Add New” — it’s created and applied in one step.
- Or manage the full list directly: hover over Accommodation or Travel Packages in the left-hand menu to find “Destinations”, “Package Categories” or “Accommodation Types” in the flyout submenu. From there you can add, rename, merge or delete entries.
5. Adding a Client Review (Testimonial)
Go to Testimonials → Add New.
- Step 1. Type the client’s name into the title box.
- Step 2. Fill in Role / Company — shown under their name, e.g. “Nairobi” or “Acme Corp, Kenya”.
- Step 3. Set a Rating from 1 to 5 stars.
- Step 4. Paste or type the Quote — the review itself, in the client’s own words.
- Step 5. Optionally add a Photo of the client. If you leave this blank, their initials are shown instead.
- Step 6. Optionally paste a YouTube or Vimeo link into Video URL to show this as a video testimonial instead of a plain quote.
- Step 7. Click Publish.
Published testimonials appear automatically in the testimonials section on the homepage.
6. Adding a Publication (Brochure or Magazine)
Publications are brochures and magazines visitors can read online (page by page, like a flipbook) or download as a PDF. Go to Publications → Add New.
- Step 1. Type the publication’s name into the title box.
- Step 2. Set a Featured Image in the right-hand sidebar — this is used as the cover image wherever the publication is listed.
- Step 3. Scroll down to the “Publication Details” box and fill in the fields below.
Publication Details — field by field
- Description — a short one or two sentence summary, shown on the publication’s card wherever it’s listed.
- PDF File — upload the actual brochure or magazine as a PDF. This is the file visitors read online and download, so make sure it’s the finished, correctly laid-out version.
- Featured on Homepage — switch this on to include this publication in the “Featured Publications” section on the homepage (up to 3 shown at once, most recently published first).
- Publish Date — defaults to today; change it if you’re adding an older back-issue. Used to order publications, newest first.
Step 4. Click Publish when ready.
Note: turning on “Featured on Homepage” for a publication only adds it to the pool of eligible publications — whether the “Featured Publications” section shows up on the homepage at all is controlled separately, in Theme Settings → Publications Settings (see Section 7). The publication is still readable on its own page and listed on the Publications archive either way.
Editing or removing an existing publication
Go to Publications → All Publications, click the publication’s name, make your changes, then click Update. Use Draft to hide a publication temporarily, or Move to Trash to remove it.
7. Site-Wide Settings (Theme Settings)
Theme Settings, near the bottom of the left-hand menu (gear icon), controls details that appear across the whole website — not tied to one specific listing. The screen is organised into tabs down the left, plus a few extra boxes further down the same page for homepage content.
General
- Company Blurb — a short 1–2 sentence introduction to Flare Travels, shown in the footer on every page.
Homepage Stats
Powers the animated counters on the homepage (e.g. “26,000+ Tours Completed”). Add a row for each stat with a Label, a Number, and an optional Suffix such as “+” or “%”.
Contact Info
- WhatsApp Number — the default number used in the header, footer and enquiry buttons site-wide, unless a specific listing has its own number.
- Phone Number / Secondary Phone Number — shown in the header, footer and Contact page.
- Email — your main enquiries address.
- Notification Email — where every form submission on the site (accommodation, packages, corporate, contact) is sent internally. Leave blank to use the site’s admin email instead.
- Office Address / Office Hours — shown in the footer and on the Contact page.
- Map Embed URL — shown on the Contact page, same trick as in Section 2. Leave blank to show a map centred on the Office Address automatically.
Social Links
Add one row per social profile: pick the platform (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and paste the full profile URL.
Logos
- Client Logos — shown in the “As Seen With” strip on the homepage and About page.
- Membership Logos — industry association logos (e.g. KATO, IATA), shown alongside the client logos.
SEO & Analytics
Google Analytics ID and Search Console verification code live here. These are technical settings your developer will usually set up for you — only change them if you know exactly what you’re pasting in.
Agent Portal
The last tab, holding one field used by the Agent Portal — a separate part of the site for approved travel agents, covered fully in Section 8:
- Rate Agreement Terms — the standard wording every agent reads and agrees to when they sign a rate contract for a listing. Editing this only affects agreements signed from now on — each agent’s own signature permanently keeps a copy of the terms exactly as they stood the moment they signed, so past agreements are never silently rewritten.
Homepage — Hero Section
Controls the large banner at the top of the homepage.
- Hero Mode — choose Background Video, Single Image, or Slideshow; the upload fields below change to match your choice.
- Headline — the large, bold line of text over the banner. Keep it short.
- Supporting Text — one short sentence underneath the headline.
Homepage — Why Choose Us
Up to 4 short trust points shown on the homepage. Each has an icon, a title (e.g. “Trusted Travel Experts”) and a one-sentence description.
Homepage — Destination Management Teaser
A short 2–3 sentence introduction to Destination Management Services shown in its own band on the homepage.
Homepage — Final CTA
The closing heading and subtext shown near the bottom of the homepage, just before the footer.
Publications Settings
Its own separate box further down the page (not one of the tabs) — just one switch:
- Show Publications on Homepage — turn this off to hide the “Featured Publications” section from the homepage entirely, no matter which individual publications are marked “Featured on Homepage” on their own edit screens (see Section 6). The Publications archive and each publication’s own reading page stay accessible either way — this only controls the homepage section.
Page Header Images
Background photos shown behind page titles: one for the Accommodation listing page, one for the Travel Packages listing page, and a Default image used as a fallback on every other page that doesn’t have its own header image set.
8. Agent Portal — How It Works
The Agent Portal is a separate, password-protected part of the website for approved travel agents — its own login, its own pages (all starting with /agent-portal/), completely separate from the public website and from the wp-admin Dashboard. It lets agents see wholesale pricing, request formal quotes, book on behalf of their clients, and download marketing materials. This section covers both sides: what you do in wp-admin to manage it, and what an agent sees and does on their end.
For Admin Staff
Everything below happens in the ordinary wp-admin Dashboard, using the same left-hand menu and Add New / Update pattern as the rest of this guide.
How an agent applies
A prospective agent fills in an application on the public website, at /agent-portal/apply/ — Agency Name, Contact Person Name, Email, Phone, Country/Region (East Africa or International), Years in Business, Agency Address, and an optional IATA/TIDS Number. No WordPress login is created at this point — it’s purely an application, waiting in wp-admin under Agent Applications for a decision.
Reviewing applications
Go to Agent Applications in the left-hand menu. The list shows Agency Name, Contact Email, Country/Region and Status for every application at a glance, so you don’t need to open one just to see who it’s from or where they’re based. While an application is still Pending, hover over its row to reveal Approve and Reject links right there in the list, next to the usual Edit and Trash.
What happens when you click Approve
Three things happen automatically:
- A real WordPress login is created for the applicant (or their existing account is reused, in the unlikely case they already have one).
- They’re emailed a link to set their own password and log in at
/agent-portal/login/— you never see or set their password yourself. - Their application’s Country/Region is copied onto their new account, and this is what decides whether they see KES (East Africa) or USD (International) net rates from then on.
Important: that Region copy only happens once, at the moment you click Approve. Editing an already-approved application’s Country/Region field afterward does not update their account — and there’s currently no wp-admin screen to change an existing agent’s region directly. If an agent’s region ever needs correcting after approval, ask your developer.
What happens when you click Reject
The applicant is emailed a short, polite note letting them know their application wasn’t approved this time. No WordPress account is created, and nothing else changes.
Setting prices for agents
Both public and agent pricing live on the very same Accommodation / Travel Package edit screen you already use day-to-day — see Sections 2 and 3 above for the full field-by-field breakdown. The short version:
- Resident / Non-Resident Pricing box — the public prices, shown to any visitor on the website.
- Agent Net Rate — Resident (KES) / Agent Net Rate — Non-Resident (USD), inside the main Details box — the wholesale prices, visible only to approved agents inside the Agent Portal, never on the public site.
Uploading rate sheets
Also inside the same Accommodation / Travel Package Details box (see Sections 2 and 3): Net Rate PDF and Rate Year. Upload the rate-sheet PDF for that specific listing here — an agent can only download it once they’ve individually signed the rate agreement for that exact listing (signing is covered under “For Agents” below).
Editing the standard contract terms
Go to Theme Settings → Agent Portal tab and edit Rate Agreement Terms — the exact wording every agent reads and ticks “I agree” to when they sign a contract for any listing. Editing it only affects agreements signed from now on, since each signature permanently keeps its own copy of the terms as they stood at the moment of signing.
Viewing signed agreements
Go to Agent Rate Agreements in the left-hand menu — a read-only audit list showing Agent, Listing and Signed Date for every contract signed so far. Nothing here is meant to be edited by hand; it’s simply the record of who has signed for what.
Managing quote requests
Agents submit formal quote requests — client details plus a full day-by-day itinerary they’ve put together using packages, accommodation, or their own custom notes per day. These land under Quote Requests in wp-admin, listing Agent, Client Name and Status. Open one to see everything the agent submitted, then respond by changing Status (Pending / Quoted / Closed) and writing an Admin Response — optionally attaching a formal Quote Document PDF. The agent sees your response, and any attached document, the next time they check their own dashboard.
Managing bookings
When an agent books on behalf of a client, it’s a request, not a confirmed or paid booking — no payment is ever taken through this flow. These land under Agent Bookings in wp-admin, listing Agent, Client Name, Package/Accommodation and Status. Once you’ve confirmed real availability (by phone, email, or however you normally do), open the entry and change Status to Confirmed (or Cancelled if it falls through) — you can also add internal Admin Notes here, which are for staff only and are never shown to the agent.
Managing marketing materials
Go to Marketing Materials in the left-hand menu and Add New to upload a brochure, image pack, rate sheet, or branding file for agents — fill in a Title, Description, pick a Category, upload the File, and optionally a Thumbnail image. It appears immediately in every approved agent’s own Marketing Materials library, filterable by category, with a ready-to-use Download button.
For Agents
Everything below happens on the public-facing side, starting at /agent-portal/ — a separate, simpler part of the site built for travel agents, not for editing website content.
Applying to become an agent
Fill in the application form at /agent-portal/apply/ — your agency details, contact information, and which region you’re based in. There’s no login yet at this stage; your application is simply sent off for review. If approved, you’ll receive an email with a link to set your own password and log in. There’s no fixed review period, so if you haven’t heard back after a reasonable wait, it’s worth following up directly.
Logging in and the dashboard
Once approved, log in at /agent-portal/login/ with the password you set from the email link. Your dashboard gives you one-click access to four things — Net Rates, Quote Requests, My Bookings, and Marketing Materials — each covered below.
How Net Rates work
Open Net Rates from your dashboard to browse every package and property as a searchable, filterable card library — search by name, or filter by type or year. Depending on the region you applied under, you’ll see either KES (East Africa) or USD (International) wholesale rates — never both, and never the other region’s pricing.
You can view any card’s rate sheet straight away, so you can read it before committing to anything. To actually download a rate sheet PDF, you first need to sign the rate agreement for that specific listing — a one-time step per listing, not a blanket sign-up for everything. Click “Sign Contract”, read the terms, tick the agreement checkbox, and submit — that card’s Download button unlocks immediately. Once you’ve signed for a listing, it stays unlocked for you from then on.
How to request a quote
Open Quote Requests → + New Quote Request from your dashboard. Fill in your client’s details (name, email, phone, number of travelers), the destination(s) of interest, preferred travel dates, an optional budget range, and any special requirements. Then build a day-by-day itinerary: add a day, either search for and pick an existing package or accommodation for it, or just type a custom note (e.g. “free day, own arrangements”) — repeat for as many days as your client’s trip needs, reordering or removing days as you go. Submit when ready.
Track it afterward on your Quote Requests page — each request shows its current Status (Pending, Quoted, or Closed). Once staff have responded, the same page shows their written response and, if one was attached, a Download button for a formal quote document.
How to book on behalf of a client
From your dashboard, open My Bookings → + Book on Behalf of Client. Choose whether it’s a Travel Package or Accommodation booking, search for and select the specific listing, then fill in your client’s name, email, phone, number of travelers, and travel/check-in dates. This submits a request, not a confirmed or paid booking — no payment is taken here, and staff still need to confirm real availability on their end.
Your My Bookings page lists every booking you’ve requested along with its current status — Requested, Confirmed, or Cancelled — so check back any time to see if staff have updated it.
Finding marketing materials
Open Marketing Materials from your dashboard for a library of brochures, image packs, rate sheets and branding files — filter by category, and click Download on anything you need.
9. Editing Existing Pages
About Us, Contact Us, Corporate Services and the legal pages are ordinary WordPress Pages, found under Pages → All Pages. Click a page’s title to open and edit it, then click Update to save.
Note: always edit the pages that already exist — don’t create brand-new pages expecting the same layout, since these special sections only work on the specific pages your developer set up. Ask your developer if you need an additional page like this.
About Us
Below the normal text editor is a “Page Sections” box — a flexible list of building blocks you can add, remove, reorder or edit independently:
- Company Overview — a heading and body text.
- Our Story — a heading, body text, and an optional photo.
- Mission / Vision — a heading and short body text for each.
- Core Values — a heading, plus a list of values, each with an icon, title and short description.
- Why Choose Us — always mirrors the homepage’s Why Choose Us section automatically; edit it from Theme Settings, not here.
- Partners Logos / Memberships Logos — these display the Client Logos and Membership Logos from Theme Settings automatically; edit them there, not here.
Use the “Add Section” button to add another block, drag a section’s “≡” handle to reorder it, or remove a section you don’t need.
Contact Us
Just a Header Image, a Form Heading and a Form Subtext — every other contact detail (phone, email, address, hours, map) is pulled automatically from Theme Settings → Contact Info, so update it there instead.
Destination Management Services
- Header Image — the page’s banner photo.
- Intro / Overview Text — the main introduction near the top; separate paragraphs with a blank line.
- Feature Grid — a row per service covered (e.g. “Ground Handling”), each with an icon, title and short description.
- Closing CTA Heading / Subtext — the bold heading and short sentence in the dark band at the bottom of the page.
Corporate Services
The Corporate Services hub page just has a Header Image. Its four sub-pages — Corporate & Conferences, Team Building, School Trips, and Golf Packages — each have their own Header Image, Intro Text, Feature List (icon, title, description per row) and an optional Gallery.
Legal Pages
Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Cancellation & Refund Policy, and Cookie Policy all work like a normal Word document — edit the text directly in the main content editor.
Note: whenever you change the wording on a legal page, also update its “Last Updated” date field further down the page — this date is shown to visitors at the top. For any changes to the actual legal wording (not just formatting), it’s worth having these reviewed by a lawyer.
10. Photos & Media — Quick Tips
- Use landscape (wide) photos for banners, headers and galleries — they fill the space better than tall or square photos.
- Keep file sizes reasonable — compress large photos before uploading (there are free tools online for this); huge files slow the website down for visitors.
- JPG for photos, PNG for logos — use PNG when a logo needs a transparent background; JPG is fine for regular photos.
- Reuse instead of re-uploading — the Media Library (left-hand menu) keeps every photo ever uploaded; when adding a gallery or featured image, you can pick an existing photo instead of uploading it again.
11. What Not To Do — When to Call Your Developer
Everything above is safe to explore — Draft status means nothing goes live until you click Publish. A few things, though, are best left to your developer:
- Don’t open Appearance → Theme Editor, or edit any Plugins — these contain the website’s code, and a small mistake there can take the whole site down.
- Don’t create brand-new pages expecting the special layouts described in Section 9 — those only work on the specific pages already set up for them.
- Don’t change Settings menu items you don’t recognise, especially anything under Settings → General, Permalinks, or WooCommerce configuration.
- Do get in touch with your developer if: something looks visually broken after a change, you want a new feature or page type, a customer reports a payment or checkout problem, or you’re simply not sure whether something is safe to click.
