Samburu offers a unique safari experience with species rarely found elsewhere in Kenya, including the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, collectively known as the Samburu Special Five. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos. Aberdare National Park provides a completely different landscape, with dense forests, waterfalls, mountain scenery, and abundant wildlife.

Full Itinerary

Here's exactly what each day of this trip looks like.

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, travelling north through the central highlands with scenic views of tea and coffee plantations before reaching Samburu National Reserve. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before relaxing. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in search of elephants, lions, leopards, Grevy's zebras, reticulated giraffes, and other unique northern species. Return to the lodge before sunset. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Spend the day exploring Samburu's dramatic landscapes and following the Ewaso Nyiro River, the park's lifeline. Search for the Samburu Special Five alongside elephants, crocodiles, cheetahs, lions, and over 450 recorded bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge in the evening. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided game drive through the conservancy, visiting the black rhino sanctuary and the enclosure of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos. Guests may also visit the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, travel to Aberdare National Park. Check into your lodge before enjoying an afternoon exploring the surrounding forests and waterfalls or watching wildlife from the lodge's viewing decks, depending on your accommodation.
