Full Itinerary
Here's exactly what each day of this trip looks like.
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and meet your driver guide before beginning the journey to Kandy. En route, visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and learn more about Sri Lanka's elephant conservation efforts. Continue to a traditional spice garden where you can discover some of the plants and spices commonly associated with Sri Lankan cuisine and traditional practices. Upon arrival in Kandy, enjoy a relaxing walk around Kandy Lake before visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka's most important religious and cultural landmarks. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Meals: No meals. Overnight: Kandy.
After breakfast, depart Kandy for the cool highlands of Nuwara Eliya. Visit a tea factory to learn about the production of one of Sri Lanka's most famous exports. Continue towards Moon Plains, where the high-altitude landscape offers beautiful views across the surrounding hills and valleys. Later, visit Gregory Lake and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this popular Nuwara Eliya attraction. Complete the day with a city tour of Nuwara Eliya before checking in to your hotel. After breakfast, begin your journey towards Colombo. Stop at Devon Falls and St. Clair's Falls, two of the well-known waterfalls in Sri Lanka's central highlands. Take time to enjoy the scenery and capture photographs before continuing towards Colombo. Upon arrival, visit Colombo Lotus Tower for views over the city and surrounding areas. Check in to your Colombo hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. Meals: Breakfast. Overnight: Colombo.
After breakfast, continue with your Colombo city tour. Visit Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, also known as the Red Mosque, before proceeding to Independence Memorial Hall. Depending on your departure time, there may be an opportunity for some additional sightseeing or shopping. Later, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
